This Is Why We’re Excited About The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor

The pickup truck segment is having yet another successful year. Car manufacturers clearly have no intention of slowing down with updates and innovations in this segment -- much to our delight. Some new (and upcoming) pickup trucks look exceptionally well-built and so visually appealing that anyone would like to have them, whether a fan or not.

Naturally, Ford is one of the leaders in the pickup-truck world and, as such, the marque offers a broad and top-notch choice of vehicles for customers. Currently, the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor appears in a lot of headlines because it's now official that the North American market will get it by the end of the year. This admirable all-new pickup truck was initially reserved for Australia and parts of Europe, but as it's been scheduled to reach the U.S. as well, we're growing impatient.

Ford has used the Raptor nameplate for high-performance pickup trucks and SUVs since 2010.

More specifically, the Raptor always aimed to be the best version of the F-150, Ranger, and Bronco. For 2023, it seems that Ford went one step further in achieving this goal because this pickup truck packs some serious specs we can't wait to drive it. Here's an overview of everything that excites us about the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor and its arrival in the U.S. market.

We Expect The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor To Sweep Us Off Our Feet With Its Handling And Driving Experience

The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor front end.

The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor marketed to European customers offers a twin-turbo 3-liter EcoBoost V6 petrol engine. Tuned by Ford Performance, this engine produces 392 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, delivering consistent power without lags. It should also be more robust than traditional versions with a graphite-iron cylinder block, which is particularly convenient for off-road adventures.

Ford actually installed a new anti-lag system in its new Raptor, allowing quicker acceleration straight out from the corners. The engine is also paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission for optimized performance on different terrains. As you'll see shortly, the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is an off-road beast first and foremost, but we actually expect it to be a solid daily performer as well.

What's even more interesting here is the fact that the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor has an electronically-controlled active exhaust system. You can select the preferred engine sound depending on the situation, switching between Quiet, Normal, Sport, and Baja (the roughest off-road option). How great is that?

This should ensure a positive driving experience on any road and in any condition.

But the unique chassis and upgraded suspension attract our attention the most. Because of the new mounts and reinforcements, the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor achieves greater control over challenging terrains. In fact, this pickup truck features new hardware provided by Fox and developed by Ford Performance, which ensures perfect balance, control, stability, and comfort off-road through a series of adjustments (e.g., spring rates, ride height, and more).

The heavy-duty underbody protection also makes the Raptor more capable of taking over the rough terrains. You can take your pickup truck on your most demanding adventures and not worry about the radiator, steering system, front differential, or any other key components. That makes a big difference in the overall traveling experience.

Of course, the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor also comes with a four-wheel drive system to ensure exceptional performance both on smooth and "bumpy" roads.

Basically, drivers should go over mud and through the city with the same level of effort. Along with the heavy-duty Baja mode, the Trail Control is there to enhance performance off-road with its automatic acceleration and braking to suit the terrain. So, how can we not be excited about such a heavily-equipped pickup truck you can drive through mud and over rocks with the highest precision and comfort?

Wait until you see the interior -- that's another big plus in our story. RELATED: Super Pickups: 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Vs 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor

As expected, the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is all strong and capable from the outside. The exterior is complemented with the flared wheel arches, C-clamp headlights, and huge lettering on the grille -- all typical for a mighty off-road performer.

The Raptor even has predictive curve lights, glare-free high beam, and auto dynamic leveling for improved visibility of both drivers and other traffic participants. The same level of rough beauty is present in the interior of the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor. The cabin of this pickup truck looks ready to take on the demanding tasks and provide comfort at the same time.

With large and highly-supportive seats, a pleasant driving experience is guaranteed for all passengers. The ambient lighting, premium leather materials, heated steering wheel, and other additional features further complement the Raptor.

Fortunately, we don't have to wait for too long.
