Getlink reports sharp increase in unaccompanied freight through Channel Tunnel


Getlink - formerly Groupe Eurotunnel - said its unaccompanied freight service through the Channel Tunnel had seen a marked acceleration in growth since March, with more than 1,000 trailers carried.

The transport of trailers by the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Freight teams on the two chunnel terminals operates 24/7 and generates 40 times less CO2 than ferries, according to the company.
