Pedestrian killed in Phoenix hit-and-run near 56th Street, Tierra Buena Lane

A 67-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Phoenix on Thursday morning, according to a police spokesperson. Officers responded to the scene near 56th Street and Tierra Buena Lane around 5:46 a.m., according to Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Mercedes Fortune.

Detectives learned the man was walking south on 56th Street outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a white pickup truck. The Phoenix Fire Department responded and pronounced the man dead, according to Fortune.  The truck fled the location, Fortune said.
