China, EU cargo trains increase

(MENAFN)Authorities stated on Saturday, April 3, China-Europe goods trains augmented their transportation of commodities from east China’s Zhejiang Province in the first quarter of this year. According to China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd, in the first three months, 513 trains transported 42,874 twenty-foot equivalent units of freight from Zhejiang’s Yiwu and Jinhua, it increased 373.5 percent year on year. As the Belt and Road Initiative gains steam, the China-Europe train system has increased in Zhejiang, with 28 routes linking 59 countries and areas in Eurasia up to now.

Commodities comprise textile goods; car parts, daily necessities and anti-epidemic goods, and Zhejiang authorities plan to complete the service of 1,800 such trains in 2021.
